About

Hi. I’m Virginia L. Clark and I love creativity – the creative moment, artists, inspiration, co-creative potentials, dreams, nightmares, friends, foes, inner and outer demons, lovers and more.

And it’s the creativity of animals, the psyche’s animals, that I believe create what we experience “out there,” on a moment-to-moment basis.

I believe emotions and thoughts are animals – living, procreating energies that are never wrong. They run in packs and herds and sometimes fly solo, but they are identifiable. And they all have one master – the alpha human. Typically, however, I forget that.

This is a problem. I’m convinced I need to be in charge of my inner animals, not the other way around.

That’s what Minding The Animals Within is all about – finding what animals are populating psychic territory at any given time and transforming them, steadily releasing their energy for a more free, spontaneous and consciously creative experience of life.

I first realized there were animals within March 25, 2002. The whole of Taos County, New Mexico, where I live was reeling in shock at the recent killing of a local woman, mauled to death by one of her son’s own dogs.

Suddenly the correlation between inner animals and outer animals became clear. Her death screamed, “Woe betide the person (or society) who loses touch with their animals, who fear and beat their animal nature into whimpering submission.”

Worse still, I saw how we bury our instincts in graveyards of repression, all out of social niceties, to fit in or for self-approval. I also saw how those feared emotions and thoughts don’t die when we bury them, they grow more powerful and monstrous, agitating for an opportune moment to roar to the surface to be seen and heard. And damn the consequences.

Rather than letting my inner demons and animals create circumstances I must react to, I prefer to explore the inner landscape and take charge of my life, my reality.

Come join me on my walk about the World According to Virginia (WAV). And I hope you will share your own adventures with the animals within.

Avanti!
